Controversial plans to create a 40-bedroom motel in north Shropshire will go under the spotlight at a meeting next week.

Keith Roberts has submitted an application to create a motel near the A53 and A41 roundabout at Tern Hill, near Market Drayton.

A similar bid for a new motel put forward by Arthur Bevan was given the go-ahead by Shropshire Council last year despite a nearly 1,000-name petition, which was instigated by Mr Roberts.

The new application, recommended for approval by planning officers, will be decided on Tuesday by members of the council's North Planning Committee in Edinburgh House, Wem, from 2pm.
