Public toilets in Whitchurch could be saved from closure after town councillors revealed they want to run them.
Whitchurch Town Council is in negotiations with Shropshire Council over the White Lion Meadow toilets.
Town clerk Peter Martin said: "We looked at the toilets in White Lion Meadow and Brownlow Street and decided on the White Lion Meadow ones because they are cleaner and are more used. We think having one set of toilets will meet the demand in the town centre."
