The 18-year-old male has been charged with making threats to kill and bailed to appear before magistrates in May.

More than a dozen armed officers brought traffic to a standstill in Tern Hill on Tuesday as they swooped to arrest the teenager in broad daylight.

Staff at Adastra Services in Tern Hill said police were waiting nearby for some time until they suddenly swung into action just after 4pm and sped off along the A41 towards the roundabout.

The teenager was the third person to be arrested after up to four shots were fired at a house in Leicester Way, Leegomery, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Sniffer dogs and armed police descended on the normally quiet cul-de-sac at about 12.30am on Saturday, while the family targeted in the shooting have been moved by police for their own safety.

Two other men arrested have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Two of the bullets have been found but the firearm has yet to be recovered.
