Cable fault cuts off Shrewsbury electricity

Hundreds of homes and businesses were this afternoon without power after an underground cable fault in Shrewsbury.

Central Networks today said 218 properties in the vicinity of the Carline Fields substation in Longden Coleham were affected.

Traffic lights were also not working in the Abbey Foregate area after power was knocked off at about 2.30pm.

Power was restored at around 3.15pm.
