Ellesmere parking charges to start tomorrow

Controversial parking charges will be introduced in Ellesmere tomorrow following a month's delay.

The town will now join Wem and Market Drayton under the off-street parking scheme, with fees starting at 10p for up to two hours.

Shropshire Council gave Ellesmere an extra month before introducing charges to allow for residents' parking schemes to be implemented.

A trader-only car park by the Wharf has also opened to free up spaces for town centre shoppers.
