The dangers of taking GHB will be highlighted by students in Oswestry tomorrow.

Parents and anyone else concerned about the drugs problem in the town are being urged to attend an open morning at Walford and North Shropshire College in Shrewsbury Road between 10.30am and midday to find out what signs they should be looking out for in users.

The event has been organised by a group of four mature students concerned that the taking of GHB and its derivative GBL are so rife in Oswestry. GHB has been linked to two deaths in the town.

Terri Evans, who is studying law, said: "We want to inform parents just how much of a problem these drugs are in Oswestry.

"It really is rife."

The students have produced a hard-hitting leaflet that shows a picture of a girl taken two years before she started using GHB and another showing the effects the drug had on her over that period of time.
