Investigating officer Detective Constable Lee Holehouse today appealed for anyone to come forward with information about the attack.
"Fortunately, the mother and her child were uninjured although she was badly shaken," said Mr Holehouse.
"It was a frightening experience and we are anxious to trace the offenders.
"I am appealing for any information which might assist our investigation.
"In particular, please contact Bridgnorth CID if you spotted two men acting suspiciously in the Racecourse Drive area between 9pm and 10pm last night or if you know anything about the incident."
Police have said one of the attackers was described as about 5ft 9ins tall, of slim to medium build, with short, shaved brown or blond hair.
He was wearing what appeared to be grey jogging bottoms and a dark hooded top. His accomplice was wearing a light coloured fleece top.
Mayor of Bridgnorth Councillor Val Gill, whose last day in office is today, said the attack was "horrible".

"People need to be alert if there are others out there who will do that sort of thing.
"I would say if anyone has any idea, or saw or heard what happened, to contact the police."
