Nine Shropshire men due in court over child sex offences

Nine men from Shropshire were due to appear in court today charged in connection with alleged sexual offences and child prostitution relating to seven girls, one aged 13.

Nine men from Shropshire were due to appear in court today charged in connection with alleged sexual offences and child prostitution relating to seven girls, one aged 13.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2009. The men, who are all from Telford, were due to stand trial at Stafford Crown Court after denying a total of 49 charges between them.

Ahdel Ali, 23, of Regent Street, Wellington is charged with raping a child aged 13, sexual activity with a child, trafficking for sexual exploitation, facilitating child prostitution, and causing or inciting child prostitution, among other charges. Mubarek Ali, 28, of Regent Street, is charged with trafficking for sexual exploitation and sexual activity with a child, among other charges.

Tanveer Ahmed, 39, of Urban Gardens, Wellington, is charged with sexual activity with a child and controlling a child prostitute, among other charges Marhoof Khan, 33, of Caradoc Flats, Wellington, is charged with sexual activity with a child, among other charges. Mohammed Ali Sultan, 24, of Victoria Avenue, Wellington, is charged with controlling child prostitution and sexual activity with a child and rape.

Mohammed Islam Choudhrey, 52, of Solway Drive, Sutton Hill, Noshad Hussain, 21, of Regent Street, Abdul Rouf, 34, and Mohammed Younis, 59, both of Kingsland, Arleston, also face charges.
