More than £10,000 of computers have been stolen from a Telford school.

Thieves smashed their way into Wombridge Primary School in Hartshill, Oakengates, before making off with 21 Apple Mac computers.

Headteacher Neil Satoor said the break-in happened sometime between 6.30am on Tuesday and 7am yesterday.

He said: "The children had taken to this equipment so successfully. This is a significant blow for the school and we are all very disappointed. Since September we have developed a reputation for our creative approach to technology.

"This will obviously hit our ability to offer the best opportunities to our children and I would appeal to anyone who has any information to get in touch with the police.

"We are determined that we will continue to invest in the best technology."
