Supermarket giant Asda today unveiled £500,000 plans to transform the existing Netto store in Market Drayton in a move which will create eight new jobs.

The store, in Stafford Street, will close for about two weeks on July 2 while it is converted into an Asda.

The new supermarket, which is expected to re-open on July 19, will stock more than 10,000 grocery products - about four times more than the number previously sold at Netto.

All of the existing staff will be transferred to the new Asda.
