A FULL-SCALE search involving mountain rescue teams, search dogs and a police helicopter was continuing today after a 58-year-old Shropshire woman went missing in North Wales.

Alison Manning, from the Market Drayton area, was staying at a hotel in Llandudno when she was last seen on Friday night.

Police said she was staying at the Risboro Hotel in Llandudno and is believed to have left the building in Clement Avenue but has not been seen since.

North Wales Police said she was believed to have contacted a family member at about 11pm on Friday but has made no further contact.

Investigators said her family was becoming increasingly concerned for her safety and whereabouts.

And officers also issued a direct appeal for her to get in touch to let people know she is safe and well.

Over the weekend searches were carried out in the area involving the Search and Rescue Dogs Association, the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team and the North Wales Police helicopter.

Police said their searches had also focused on the Great Orme peninsula.

Inspector Tony Wan said: "Concern is growing for the 58-year-old as she hasn't been seen since Friday night.

"I'm appealing to anyone who believes they may have seen Alison, or who may know of her whereabouts, to contact us immediately.

"I'm also appealing to Alison herself to contact us and her family to let us know that she is safe and well.

"From our inquiries we now believe Alison was last seen wearing medium length light trousers, a long anorak which was either green or green and blue, sandals, glasses and had a large cream coloured handbag."

Officers have released a CCTV image of the missing woman, which was taken at about 2.30pm on Friday.

She is white, about 5ft 1ins and has short blonde hair which is greying slightly. Officers said she is quite stocky and has blue eyes.

Police appealed for anybody with information to contact them on 0845 6071002 for the English language line, 0845 6071001 for the Welsh language line.
