The first ever Clun's Got Talent show has been called off due to a number of acts being unavailable.

The event was due to be held on Saturday at Clun Memorial Hall in a bid to give people in the town the chance to show off their abilities at singing, dancing and other pursuits.

But organisers have postponed the event until the autumn after only five acts signed up.

Among the acts expected to perform were a dancing troupe of boys from St George's Primary School – but they were unable to take part as some of them will be lining up at the boys Dancing event at the Walker Theatre at Theatre Severn on the same night.

Joan Kerry, one of the event's organisers and a member of the memorial hall committee, said: "We have got bucketloads of talent in Clun, but a lot of it will not be available on Saturday night.

"We will probably hold it sometime in October when hopefully more people will be available."
