Welshpool residents criticised for not supporting events

People in Welshpool were criticised today for moaning about nothing ever happening in the town, but then failing to turn out for big events.

Councillor Estelle Blievas, mayor of Welshpool, said: "At the Tour of Britain Cycle Fun Day it seemed like there was a severe lack of the public."

She added: "Some people moan and say that nothing happens, well here was something and it did not seem to me like many people turned up. I was most disappointed."
