Football club bosses who had their changing rooms ransacked by metal thieves in Whitchurch have issued an urgent appeal for help from the public in replacing materials which were damaged.

Raiders targeted Whitchurch Alport FC's Yockings Park ground, causing Wednesday night's home clash with Rudheath to be cancelled.

Thousands of pounds of damage was caused during the incident which included the toilets and doors being damaged and copper piping being stolen. First team manager Andy Allmark has spoken of his anger at the incident and is hoping people will help replace the items damaged and stolen.

He said: "They have caused thousands of pounds of damage to both the home and away changing rooms which the club could have done without. Hopefully, people will come forward and help us replace the materials."

Anyone with information about the raid can call police on 03003 333000.

To help with replacing the materials, call Andy Allmark on 07885866738.
