Parking charges introduced in Whitchurch

Whitchurch today became the final market town in Shropshire to implement new off-street parking charges.

Shropshire Council gave the town a five month stay of execution from the charges, which were rolled out to most towns in April.

But now, despite calls from town councillors for a rethink, the charges are to be imposed from today on all council-owned car parks.
