Nine people were treated by ambulance staff after a four vehicle road traffic incident near Prees, north Shropshire, this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene on the A41 near Prees, just before 11am.

Two ambulances attended from Whitchurch and Market Drayton.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "A total of nine patients were assessed by ambulance staff at the scene. One patient suffered neck pain and was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board.

"Five further patients received minor injuries, including a family of four travelling in one car.

"Three patients were treated at scene and did not require further hospital treatment.

"The patients were conveyed to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for further assessment and treatment."
