Two rush hour crashes sparked hold-ups for drivers on main roads in Shropshire today.

In Shawbury, two cars collided at about 8.30am blocking the A53 close to the B5063 Wem Road. Police directed traffic past the scene for a short time.

In Craven Arms, an accident involving one vehicle caused long tailbacks along the A49 Shrewsbury Road, just before 9am. It also affected traffic using the B4368 Corvedale Road. No-one was believed to have been injured in either of the incidents.
