But they said the changes would 'impact' upon a small number of staff at the Gobowen hospital although their pay would be protected for five years.

Hospital chiefs have been consulting staff since August on changes to team structures in therapy services.

She added that the trust had no plans for compulsory redundancy of any therapy staff.

And she denied the trust was currently looking at downgrading staff, adding: "At the moment we have not agreed to downgrade any staff. We can confirm that only staff in supervisory roles would be affected by the current proposals for restructuring."
