A ban on drinking alcohol in some streets in Welshpool could be brought in after fears over anti-social behaviour. Town councillors are to carry out a survey to see if there is any support for the proposed ban.
The town council is urging residents concerned about anti-social behaviour and other alcohol-related crimes to contact the police to build up a log of incidents.
The study into any alcohol restrictions would be carried out from the spring.
Town clerk Robert Robinson said he was urging people to call 101 to report issues.
