A man has died and another suffered head injuries after a head-on smash between two vans near the Shropshire border.

A man has died and another suffered head injuries after a head-on smash between two vans near the Shropshire border.

A 55-year-old man believed to be from the Stourbridge area was declared dead at the scene after the crash at the junction of Chester Road and Clanbrook Road in Stourton, near Kinver, shortly before 3.30pm yesterday.

The 34-year-old driver of the other van suffered head injuries in the crash near the A458 Bridgnorth Road.

Meanwhile, a youth suffered a broken leg after being involved in a collision with a car in Watling Street, Wellington, shortly after 5pm yesterday. The road was closed for nearly an hour.

And a motorist was taken to hospital after a car overturned in Preston Montford Lane, Preston Montford, near Shrewsbury, shortly after 6.30pm yesterday.

Two women were also taken hospital with head injuries after a car crash on the A44 at New Radnor, near Presteigne, at about 5.30pm yesterday.
