An angry motorist has hit out at Shropshire Council after he received a parking fine – half an hour before he claims his ticket was due to run out.
An angry motorist has hit out at Shropshire Council after he received a parking fine – half an hour before he claims his ticket was due to run out.
Barry Lewis, from Ellesmere, said the £25 fine was issued at 1.30pm on the town's main Cross Street car park but he had paid for parking up until 2pm. Mr Lewis has vowed not to pay the penalty charge.
Shropshire Council today invited Mr Lewis to appeal the penalty if he felt it was issued unfairly.
Mr Lewis, who is a gardening contractor for private customers and Ellesmere Town Council, said he had paid 10p to park for two hours on Thursday afternoon.
