A poppy tin has been stolen from a church in north Shropshire.

Pauline Stokes, verger at St Alkmund's parish church, Whitchurch, discovered the box missing when she opened the building yesterday.

She said she could not believe that anyone would stoop so low and is now hoping that CCTV images may catch the thief.
