Young apprentice Hayley escapes axe

Shropshire Young Apprentice contender Hayley Forrester was dragged back into the boardroom after tasting defeat for the first time on the hit BBC show last night – but narrowly avoided being told 'you're fired' by Lord Sugar.

The 17-year-old farmer's daughter from Northwood, near Wem, remains in the show but came under fire for the first time last night.

Lord Sugar mixed the two teams up as boys were matched with girls before being given the task of selling two products to the over fifties market. Hayley's Atomic team, led by Haya Al Dlame, suffered a major defeat after struggling to sell a pie maker and a camera bird box.

The defeat saw Hayley brought back into the boardroom to face Lord Sugar by her team leader after only selling one camera bird box.

The Shropshire teenager was also subject of concerns raised by Lord Sugar and his advisers Nick Hewer and Karren Brady, who said she needed to be more assertive.

Speaking on last night's show, Lord Sugar said: "I am not sure if you have enough power to express yourself over the other strong characters in this process."

But Hayley said: "I think I have definitely contributed a lot to the team. Haya should be fired. She didn't respect and take in any of our ideas."

The winning team's reward was being shown magic tricks on the London Eye. However, it was the end of the road for 16-year-old Lewis Roman.
