Maesbury Primary School will be closing its doors at the end of the academic year.
Staff, parents and governors have been battling for months to save the school, one of a number earmarked for closure by Shropshire Council.
In one of its last attempts to keep doors open staff applied for academy status, to cut ties from the authority allowing them to work independently.
But today headteacher Rosemary Finney revealed they'd run out of time and the school would close at the end of this academic year.
