Hopes of reviving Whitchurch Carnival after eight years to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next summer have been dealt a blow after organisers revealed they face a struggle to raise £10,000 to stage the event.

However, they are hopeful of holding a smaller 'party in the park' event at Jubilee Park because it would be cheaper to run.
