A pair of lifelong friends from Shrewsbury and a chef from Bishop's Castle are to get their 15 minutes of fame when they appear on television next week.

Tim Barnes, from Castlefields, and Simon Berry, of Harlescott, who are both 24, recently took part in daytime BBC1 show Bargain Hunt.

Their efforts are due to be broadcast on Wednesday.

If he passes the first skills test judged by Gregg Wallace and the fearsome Monica Galetti he will then cook for double Michelin star holder Michel Roux Jnr on Tuesday for a place in the quarter-final.
