Headteacher appointed at Shrewsbury High School

A new headteacher has been appointed at Shrewsbury High School. Michael Getty will be taking up his new role in September following the retirement of Marilyn Cass.

A new headteacher has been appointed at Shrewsbury High School. Michael Getty will be taking up his new role in September following the retirement of Marilyn Cass.

Mr Getty is currently the deputy head at an independent co-educational day school in Doncaster.

He began his teaching career when he joined Durham High School for Girls as head of economics, where he spent nine years and became head of sixth form.

He also has overseas teaching experiences, spending three years at the New English School in Amman, Jordan.
