The family of a 24-year-old woman from Mid Wales who died in a crash on the A470 today paid tribute to a 'caring' and 'perfect' daughter and girlfriend.

Rhian Woolley, of Llanidloes, died on Wednesday after the silver Daewoo Matiz she was driving collided with a black Ford Mondeo, between Llanidloes and Rhayader at Llangurig, on Wednesday night.

Her mother Andrea said: "Rhian was a unique young woman, an original and kind-hearted young woman who was the life and soul of the party.

"Rhian was strong, but also very giving in nature and would do anything for anybody without expecting anything in return.

"She recently discovered her forte, working as a carer in Crossfield House in Rhyader, a job she thoroughly enjoyed and where she was highly thought of and respected.

"She was a much loved daughter to me and her dad Mark, sister to Owen, Dean and Samuel, a loving girlfriend to Matthew, and beloved grandaughter to Pam, Morris and Wyn."

Rhian's boyfriend, Matthew Evans added: "She was fantastic and perfect."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the policing unit on 0845 3302000.
