AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton believes the Bucks can return to Blue Square Bet Premier action full of confidence after his side swept aside a youthful Mansfield Town 5-0 in a mid-season friendly last night.
The Telford chief, who took the opportunity to blood an un-named trialist at full-back , was delighted with his side's performance after a brace from Kyle Perry and goals from Shane Killock, David McDermott and Nathan Rooney completed the win.
And Sinton is sure the result will have given the whole squad, supplemented by new arrivals McDermott, Jon Brown and Ryan Brooke who all featured, a lift.

"I thought we played some really, really good stuff," said Sinton. "We looked sharp and we looked bright. We scored some good goals and that will do the players the world of good going into a period of the season where confidence is key
"What I did say to the players is that winning will not keep us in the Conference. But winning with a good performance like that will help keep us in the Conference because people like Kyle Perry get a couple of goals and he will automatically wake up today feeling a lot better. That was the purpose.
"It was a really good performance in front of a good crowd so thanks to them for coming out and it was a really good workout. Any game we enter we want to win so the result matters in that regard."
The boss also praised the trialist who completed 90 minutes at full- back, although he refused to name him. "We had a look at a left-back," said Sinton. "He's a young lad that has come out of the pro game that I have kept an eye on over the past few months.
"He contacted us asking if he could come and join in training and on the showing he gave I don't think he's done himself any harm.
"But having said that, we have got good left-backs at the club and we are not in a position where we need to bring players in for the sake of adding.
"We'll get him in at training and keep an eye on him. I don't want to alert any other clubs to him by saying too much about him."
