Lights, camera, action! A country house in Shropshire was today transformed into a movie set for the making of a new independent film.

The privately-owned grade II listed Leighton Hall, near Shrewsbury, was the location for the low budget movie European Psycho, which will be launched at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May.

Actors, crew and support staff arrived earlier today for a two-day shoot, which will conclude tomorrow.

As part of the movie, a nightclub scene will be shot at Bar Fever in Shrewsbury on Monday and film bosses are calling on budding county actors and actresses to play extras for the scene.

Production manager Darren Crisp said: "Filming is going really well so far and we've been really encouraged by the response from the local community and owe them a big thank you.

"We've already been filming in various locations in Shropshire and we expect it to last about another week."
