Witness plea after biker dies at scene of road crash
A motorcyclist has died in a crash on the A49 close to the south Shropshire border. The accident happened at Ashton, near Leominster, shortly before 2.30pm yesterday.

It closed the road for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene.
Paramedics made attempts to resuscitate the biker but their efforts failed and he was declared dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
It is not believed any other vehicle was involved in the incident.
Chris Ammonds, a spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "A motorcyclist was killed after an accident on the A49 on Sunday afternoon.
"We do not think any other vehicle was involved and the road was closed for several hours."
Suzie Fothergill, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "Crews arrived on scene to find a man lying on the verge of the road, with his motorbike found nearby.
"Crews immediately commenced emergency medical treatment and full resuscitation attempts were carried out.
"Unfortunately despite best efforts of ambulance personnel, nothing could be done to save the man who was confirmed deceased at the scene."
