Train passengers were facing delays today following signal failure on the line between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
London Midlands said a cable fault had caused the signals to fail with the first train from Shrewsbury at 5.26am being cancelled.
The 6.55am Shrewsbury to Birmingham train was also cancelled and the 7.14am started half-an-hour late.
Rail bosses say the problem has been fixed but the knock-on effect will cause further delays.
