A 34-year-old father has admitted causing the death of his own son by dangerous driving following a crash.
Alan Lloyd Paul Evans appeared at Chester Crown Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to causing the death of Bailey Thomas Alan Evans during a crash on the A483 Moors Length at Welshpool on May 14 last year.
The tragedy happened when Mr Evans, of Ford Jarvis, Wrexham, was driving with his five-year-old son, from Llanwnog, near Caersws, Newtown, in the front passenger seat.
There was a head-on crash with another vehicle and Bailey suffered severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Three other people were also injured in the collision, which happened at about 5.25pm and involved a gold Citroen Saxo and a red Nissan Qashqai.
The road was closed in both directions until the early hours of the following morning as emergency services carried out investigations at the scene.
Judge Philip Richards imposed an interim driving ban on Evans and adjourned the case for sentence until next month.
In that time, a pre-sentence report and psychiatric report will be carried out on Evans.
Judge Richards described the case as 'tragic', but added that he would be considering all sentencing options.
Evans was bailed and will be sentenced on April 13 at Mold Crown Court.
