A huge celebration to mark the reopening of Teme Bridge in Tenbury Wells takes place this week.

The bridge, which was closed for more than two months for £1million of repair work, opened on Friday – a week ahead of schedule thanks to the weather.

But local businesses, organisations, councillors and residents will all attend a special event at 11.30am on Wednesday on the Tenbury side of the bridge.

Tenbury Wells Town Council has been putting up bunting around the town in celebration of the reopening which has been welcomed by town traders.

The 14th century bridge, an ancient listed monument, shut to traffic in January for repairs.
