Man badly injured in late-night thug attack
A man was knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly in the head by thugs in a late-night assault in Ellesmere. The 29-year-old was hurt as he lay unable to defend himself.

He remains in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with serious injuries, although they are not thought to be life-threatening.
The man had been in a fight with one of the offenders before he fell to the floor in Victoria Street, near to the junction with Trimpley Street – then another attacker joined in.
They only stopped when a woman intervened in the incident which took place in the early hours of Sunday.
A police spokeswoman said detectives are due to speak to the victim today.
She said: "An ambulance was immediately called for the victim and he was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, although he remains in hospital, at this stage it does not appear the injuries are life-threatening.
"Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, especially anyone who may know the identity of the two men.
"The first man is described as being white, as having dark hair and wearing a light coloured top with dark horizontal stripes, while the second is described as of mixed race and wearing dark clothing.
