A new 60-bed care home in Ludlow will open in June creating 100 jobs, it was announced today.

Hagley Place in Foldgate Lane is being built by healthcare giants Barchester which today said the first residents would be welcomed in June.

Company bosses yesterday unveiled show suites at Hagley Place to give people a chance to see what the finished home will look like.

Hayley Senior, spokeswoman for Barchester, said: "Hagley Place is one of at least 10 other homes we hope to complete by the end of 2012. Hagley Place will open at the beginning of June and create 100 jobs."

Deputy mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Jeffry Wilcox, officially unveiled the show suites. Newly appointed general manager at the care home, Dean David, helped Mr Wilcox cut the ribbon.

Mr David added: "It will be finished with luxury fittings and furnishings. All rooms will include en-suite shower facilities."
