Traders and residents in Tenbury Wells celebrated the end of a two-month closure of Teme Bridge for £1.2 million repairs.
The town was decked out in bunting for the official ceremony yesterday when a ribbon was cut and speeches made.
Traffic was allowed to use the 14th century bridge over the River Teme last Friday.
But yesterday's opening marked the moment when local residents could truly celebrate.
Some town traders claim they lost up to 50 per cent of takings during the closure since January 9. The ribbon was cut at 11.30am yesterday by council bosses who said they understood how trying the last two months had been.
