Plans to revamp one of the most historic buildings in Shrewsbury have been given a boost by structural engineers.
Kad Zaman, who owns the Station Hotel in Wellington, has applied to Shropshire Council for permission to transform the derelict Old Maltings building in Frankwell in to offices, shops and restaurants, saying it would create up to 30 jobs.
The three-storey building has suffered some structural problems due to water leaking through the roof. But structural engineers Carroll & Williams found they would not hinder the scheme.
