Owners of the Buttermarket nightclub in Shrewsbury have been given permission to open until 6.30am, seven days a week, despite concerns about late night noise.

The club in Howard Street has been given the go-ahead by Shropshire Council to sell alcohol until 5.30am, provide entertainment from 8am until 6am and stay open until 6.30am.

A previous premises licence for the venue, which is due to reopen on April 6 after a massive revamp, permitted it to open until 7am.

Residents and councillors expressed concerns at the £1 million relaunch of the club.
