Homes in Cleobury Mortimer had no water for more than an hour after a contractor cut through a main.

Some homes had no water between 10pm and 11pm yesterday while others had muddy and discoloured water for up to 12 hours.

The problem was caused after a main linking the nearby Lea Farm Reservoir, which supplies water to homes across the town, was damaged by a contractor yesterday evening.

Severn Trent was unable to say how many homes were affected but the problem had been fixed and supplies should return to normal today.
