Traffic lights are to be placed on one of Telford's busiest roundabouts, road bosses announced today.

The lights are being installed on the Ketley Dingle Interchange and will control traffic leaving the M54 westbound from Shrewsbury.

The wesbound sliproads on and off the motorway will be widened to three lanes in the £720,000 scheme.

The Highways Agency says the works will be paid for by the developers of the massive Ironstone housing site at Lawley and are needed to cope with the extra traffic the homes will generate.

Other work includes resurfacing, drainage works, repairs to the bridge joints and changes to the road signs and road markings and it is likely to completed by June.
