A sex attacker who followed a woman to a quiet alley in Telford before pushing her to the ground and assaulting her has had his jail term cut on appeal.

Slawomir Wilczarski, 37, of King Street, Wellington, was jailed indefinitely for public protection in October last year after a trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

The judge ruled he must serve at least five-and-a-half-years in prison. But three senior judges at London's Court of Appeal have said he should be able to apply for parole after four and half years because he had no previous convictions.

Judge Peter Thornton QC told the court Wilczarski scoured the streets of Wellington looking for a victim in January last year.
