Ex-care worker in court charged with thefts

A former care worker has appeared in court charged with two thefts and two burglaries from the properties of elderly people in Tenbury Wells.

A former care worker has appeared in court charged with two thefts and two burglaries from the properties of elderly people in Tenbury Wells.

Emma Louise Clarke, 29, of Bromyard Road, Tenbury Wells, appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court yesterday.

She is accused of committing the offences at the properties of elderly clients that she had contact with while she worked as a care worker.

She is accused of using a client's card to buy goods worth £2,690.

Clarke is also accused of stealing a cash card from a client in Tenbury Wells and using it to buy goods worth £1,700.

She is also charged with breaking into two properties in the town, a count of fraud to the value of £72 and possession of a class A drug.

Clarke was remanded to appear at the same court on Friday.
