Work to cut noise caused by lorries on a busy road was due to get under way today.

All the ironworks, grids and drain covers on a stretch of the A483 around Pant to Llanymynech will be raised to reduce noise from vehicles driving over them.

The newly-formed Llany-mynech and Pant Bypass Action Group has been working to try and get a new road built around the villages instead of all drivers having to use the A483.
