A man has been arrested today in connection with a £50,000 armed robbery at a luxury home near Bridgnorth.

Twelve police officers broke down the door of a flat in Wolverhampton at about 7.20am today.

They arrested an 18-year-old man at the scene and he remained in police custody this afternoon.

He is the second man to be arrested in connection with last month's robbery at the home of businessman Richard Barnfather in Lower Rudge, Pattingham.

Detective Sergeant Dave Meyer, from West Mercia Police, said today: "I can confirm that officers from the West Mercia and West Midlands forces executed a warrant at an address in the Warstones area of Wolverhampton today.

"They made a forced entry to the premises and arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of robbery."
