Fire crews called to Telford care home

Firefighters were called to a care home in Telford in the early hours of today after a patient hoist caught fire.

The 64 residents of Chillcott Gardens care home in Bridgnorth Road, Madeley, were woken by fire alarms shortly before 3am.

David Coull, of Coverage Care, said the fire was quickly put out and they did not have to evacuate.
