The first ever Shropshire County Horse Show has been hailed a huge success by organisers who are confident it will return next year.
The event, at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury, featured a full array of affiliated and unaffiliated horse competitions and stalls.
It used to form part of the Shropshire County Show, which runs at the Berwick Road Showground over two days, but the show was split for the first time this year over two weekends.
The new format featured the Shropshire County Horse Show on Saturday and the Shropshire County Agricultural Show will take place at the showground this Saturday. Organiser of the horse show, Christine Madeley, said it was a brilliant day.
She said: "I think it is a great success, we have had a smashing response and are very pleased. I think this format will continue, we have put on 25 unaffiliated classes and have had really good feedback. For a horse show, the number of spectators is good."
A pony club qualifier for the Prince Phillip Cup Games formed part of the event at the last minute because of flooding at the site it is normally held at.
