Man, 22 robbed at knifepoint in Shrewsbury

A 22-year-old man was attacked and threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery by three men wearing balaclavas in a Shrewsbury street.

A 22-year-old man was attacked and threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery by three men wearing balaclavas in a Shrewsbury street.

The man was walking alone outside the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Mount Pleasant Road, when confronted by the men wearing hooded tops, baseball caps and balaclavas who tried to take his mobile phone.

He was threatened with a Stanley-type knife and after a struggle the attackers ran off towards Ellesmere Road.

The victim suffered scratches and minor cuts but is not thought to have required hospital treatment. The incident happened at about 5pm on Sunday.
