Girl hurt in Whitchurch hit-and-run

A 12-year-old girl was injured as she crossed a road in Whitchurch in a hit-and-run, police said.

The youngster suffered minor injuries when she was hit by a car as she used the pelican crossing on Sedgford.

The car involved did not stop at the scene and continued towards Prees on Heath Road after the accident at about 8.40am yesterday.

Constable Rob Seager said: "Fortunately, the girl was not badly hurt in the collision, but this could have been a lot worse."
