Shropshire people from the worlds of sport, education, business and the Armed Services are among those who have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
They have received MBEs, OBEs and military honours.
Among those honoured is Shropshire's record-breaking Olympian Alison Williamson, who has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Honour's List.
The archer, whose parents Tom and Sue live in Church Stretton, has been recognised for her services to sport. Last month she was selected in Team GB's archery squad for the London 2012 Games, which will be her sixth Olympics.
Alison is currently competing in a World Cup Series event in Ogden in Utah in the USA and this summer the 40-year-old will be targeting gold after winning a bronze medal at the Athens Olympics of 2004. She still spends time in the Shropshire Hills and last month she carried the Olympic Torch through Much Wenlock, the birthplace of the modern Olympic movement.
Councillor Tom Beaumont, mayor of Church Stretton, said: "Alison has brought a lot of attention to archery in Church Stretton, where there is now a thriving and vibrant club and interest is booming. I think this is wonderful news."
